Welcome to the Department of Computer Science at University of Delhi.

The Department of Computer Science at University of Delhi was established in the year 1981 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science. It is presently located on the 1st floor of Faculty of Mathematical Sciences building at north campus of the University of Delhi.
The Department offers academic programs of study primarily at postgraduate and doctoral levels, and at undergraduate level at various colleges of University of Delhi. The Department started 3-year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme in the year 1982, which was among the first such programmes in the country. This program is now converted into a two-year program. A two-year M.Sc. Computer Science programme started in the year 2004 with the aim to develop core competence in Computer Science and prepare the students to take up challenges in research and development in Computer Science. The department facilitates internship and placement activities for its students.
Various academic programs at the Undergraduate level are also offered by the department through the constituent colleges of University of Delhi. These include B.Sc. (H) Computer Science, B.Sc. Physical Science with Computer Science, B.Sc. Mathematical Science with Computer Science, and B.A. program with Computer Applications.
Besides these programs, the Department offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science. Several fellowships are offered to students admitted to Ph.D. program. The department has an experienced and rich panel of faculty members to guide the Ph.D. students, including those from colleges who are recognised as research supervisors. Faculty members of the department also undertake different extramural research projects, many of which also support the research activities in different ways.
