SANKALAN 2026 – The Annual Technical Fest: Click here
Sankalan 2026, the 22nd edition of the annual technical fest organized by the Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi, was held on April 24 and 25, 2026. Over 1200 participants registered for the fest this year, with over 600 attending offline across both days.
The fest was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mohammed Y Safirulla K, IAS, Guest of Honour Prof. Sanjeev Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi, Prof. Neelima Gupta, Head of the Department, and Dr. Aakash Singh, Convener of DUCSS. Mohammed Y Safirulla K also delivered an insightful presentation on AI, giving participants a lot to think about heading into the two days ahead.
Day 1 kicked off with HackDUCS, the flagship hackathon, where teams got straight to building. Path Finder and Ctrl+Query ran alongside it in the morning, testing participants on robotics and database management respectively. Blind Coding and FC Showdown started around the same time, one demanding pure logical thinking without ever seeing the screen, the other keeping the FIFA enthusiasts engaged. Dastur-e-Mehfil gave students a platform to perform poetry and shayari, and Algoholics wrapped up the day in the afternoon with some serious competitive programming.
Day 2 opened with Signal Protocol, which was a bit of a cybersecurity challenge, part treasure hunt, with participants decoding clues and finding answers across the campus. Chess Bot Arena followed, where participants coded bots to play chess against each other. Code Auction came next, with its usual mix of bidding on code snippets and then debugging them under pressure. Squash the Bugs ran in the afternoon, and Feet on Fire closed out the fest in the evening with several group dance performances.
The Valedictory Session was conducted by Dr. Aakash Singh, where winners were recognized and certificates and goodies were handed out.
Sankalan 2026 once again proved why it holds a special place in the academic calendar of the Department. The enthusiasm that participants brought to every event, and the effort that went behind organizing each one, made these two days worth every bit of the work that went into them. The Department is grateful to everyone who was part of it, whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience, and looks forward to welcoming everyone back for an even better edition next year.
